Doctors day?

Yes folks, I just found out that there is such a thing as a 'doctor's day'..
It is celebrated on 1st of July in India, March 30th in US of  A and Hungary and finally March 14th in Turkey. In India, its actually to dedicate the day to someone who happened to be a doctor who did a lot of service to their country..so it's more of a 'doctor day' rather then 'doctors'. The people who celebrate it on the 30th of March did so because it was the day the first surgery was done with general anesthesia. The Turks celebrate it on 14th march to commemorate the day they opened their first modern medical school.
As you can see, the dates and reasons it's celebrated is as divided as the profession itself..
The people of India is actually celebrating a person rather then the profession
The Yanks celebrated a new way of getting high
The Hungarians decided to follow the yanks and 'one up' them cause its a public holiday in Hungary
And the Turks have their own agenda like always..

Personally, i dont think it'll ever catch on..
And honestly, i think that it is unnecessary..
besides, a simple 'thank you' at then end of the consult is worth way more..

p/s: Cant help but to picture a highly paid US plastic surgeon in his Porche getting stopped at the car park by a little girl with a 'happy doctors day' card..ahahaha..damm you highly paid US surgeons...
